A scholarship has been established in honour of Diana de Vos OAM , celebrating her extraordinary contribution to dance and her lifelong dedication to nurturing future generations.
Diana was a central figure in the dance community in Western Australia. Her passion for ballet, commitment to teaching, and generosity of spirit shaped countless dancers and teachers, with her influence reaching far beyond Australia to the international dance world.
Diana’s journey in dance began in Perth, where she trained with leading teachers before continuing her studies in Melbourne. At just 15, she became the youngest dancer in the West Australian State Ballet Company, later performing as a soloist and principal dancer, and working with several companies in Sydney.

Over many years, she inspired and guided generations of dancers, sharing her knowledge with care, insight, and unwavering dedication. As an examiner, she travelled extensively, supporting students and teachers across Australia and around the world.
This scholarship honours Diana’s belief in opportunity, excellence, and the importance of strong foundations in dance education. It aims to support and encourage emerging dancers, providing them with opportunities to grow, develop, and pursue their passion—just as Diana so tirelessly encouraged throughout her life.
Diana’s impact continues to be felt in every dancer she inspired. This scholarship stands as a lasting tribute to her legacy, ensuring her influence will continue to shape future generations of artists.
